Emms out
Gail
Emms has been forced to pull out of the English Nationals for
the second time in four years.
The defending women's doubles champion with Donna Kellogg and the
former mixed doubles champion with Nathan Robertson has not
recovered from the illness which forced her to pull out before the
start of last week's Korea Open and misses this weekend's tournament
at Manchester Velodrome.
Emms was top seed in the mixed with Robertson, who has also
withdrawn from that event, but he will still play men's doubles with
Anthony Clark and they are second seeds.
George Bevan (Avon) and Caroline Smith (Leics) will be
promoted from the reserve list to replace Robertson and Emms in the
mixed doubles. revised draw
Emms was also top seed with Kellogg in the women's doubles and the
Derbyshire player is looking for a partner in the hope of carrying
on. Kellogg is also second seed with Clark in the mixed.
Emms was forced out of the Nationals three years ago through injury.
